Saudi crown prince extends congratulations to the Kingdom on securing the 2034 World Cup bid

The bid will be presented to FIFA officials in Paris by a delegation led by Sports Minister Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal and Saudi Football Federation President Yasser Al-Misehal.

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman praised the Kingdom for finalizing its bid to host the 2034 World Cup.

On Monday, the bid was presented to FIFA officials in Paris by a delegation led by Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, the Saudi Minister of Sports, and Yasser Al-Misehal, President of the Saudi Football Federation.

Prince Abdulaziz conveyed his thanks to King Salman and the crown prince for their support and commitment to the bid.

“With this candidacy, we aim to host an extraordinary World Cup edition, featuring 48 teams for the first time ever in a single country,” the minister stated.

“I am deeply grateful to our visionary leadership for helping us reach this milestone in Saudi sports history. My heartfelt thanks also go to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his steadfast support in developing the sports sector.

“Saudi Arabia’s bid for the FIFA World Cup 2034 represents a forward-looking vision. It is for our children and those with grand dreams.

“Our goal is to host the most significant event in football, which would reinforce our influential role on the global stage across various sectors, including sports.

“The participation of two young individuals in submitting the bid highlights the vital role of our youth, who are the largest demographic group in our nation. Their passion and exceptional talent in areas such as football are crucial to achieving the Kingdom’s future goals.”

He added: “Their involvement sends a strong message, reflecting the hopes and ambitions of our youth to experience a FIFA World Cup on home soil, contribute to organizing the tournament, and support the Kingdom’s efforts in welcoming the world.”

Al-Misehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), remarked: “Our bid campaign underscores our commitment to hosting the world’s premier football tournament and our deep desire to enhance sports and the quality of life for our people.

“Our nation’s love for football has deep historical roots, and we aim to demonstrate to FIFA how we will channel this passion not only in 2034 but for future generations. We seek to build a lasting legacy that will elevate Saudi Arabia’s transformation to new heights.”
